I've never heard of anybody tryingf to paint them, but perhaps one of the spray paiints intended for use on vinyl would work. I've used them successfully on vinyl trim components on previous rigs. I used the vinyl paint products from a NAPA store rather than the home store variety, but don't really know if they are better or just the same.

I also don't know if the stripes are "vinyl" either, except in the broadest sense. There are lots of synthetic materials and they have different characteristics.

If you decide to experiment, be sure to let us all know what happens.

You did not specify who would do the work. Yes, it can be done. However, professionally done it will cost quite a bit. Another option is to go to a RV parts place to find replacement vinyl strpes. Replacing with the original stripes may be difficult as the striping ages and manufacturers tend to keep changing the stripes. You may find striping of a color and type you like and have a "custom" unit.

Painted the stripe on my 1980 Tioga with a good grade of Enamel spray paint 2years ago and it still looks great . Be sure to clean the area good and tape off the area good. Can't find striping to match without going to a custom sign co. and it's not cheep! Hope you have good luck..
