Wallpaper border peeling

Our '01 has paper wallpaper border mid height on the wall. Seen on this thread. This border, installed by the prior owner and not designed for the higher moisture environment of an RV has bubbles and is coming off of the wall. As I expect the removal will reveal stains from the paste that I can't clean, I'm looking to replace it with vinyl border instead, as well put in a vinyl backsplash behind the stove. (perhaps even vinyl tile as the backsplash, which is common these days). Any suggestions for a good source for the materials and best installation options? Unfortunately every local source doesn't carry the product in stock - wallpaper, let alone vinyl border, is hard to find these days.

Are you sure the border wasn't factory, my last 5ver had the same looking border with the same problems, every where in the living area and slide. A large section was replaced under warranty.; and the fix for the rest was a 1" wide trim tape run on the top a bottom seams of the border. Had the 5th for 4 years after the repair and never had an issue. Paper border paste shouldn't stain the walls you might just get away with removing it .

Many people are going to a tile backsplash now.
That's my next.

Go to a paint store for wallpaper selection. Tons of options still available. More than big box stores.

I contacted a local RV shop (been here since the 40's). They recommended vinyl over vinyl adhesive for a permanent fix. Found some at Sherwin-Williams. This is low VOC, water based, mildew resistant and no primer is required.
