FWIW, that Flying J is now a Love's. I have found lower diesel prices at stations which would handle our rig w/toad on US 30 closer to the city. Check the internet for fuel prices and google satellite for access.

You can use your cash back credit card to purchase a pre-paid Walmart card. Best of both worlds that way, with 5% back on your Discover, and $0.10 discount using the Walmart card.

Discover cashback for incidental purchases under the annual limit (I think it's $2,500), is 1/10 of 1%. Over that, it's 1%. The 5% is for gas only, not for buying the Walmart card. Still cheaper to use the Discover right now.

Oh! Guess I'm lucky, my 1% back is for anything I purchase, including the Walmart card. Actually, the more I put on the card the higher the percentage back is. It's nice to belong to the largest credit union in the world. NFCU.

I didn't know there was a restriction on the Discover Card. I have one because it allows me entry into SAM's, as a business person, but I never use it.

They just started it last year (?) Now the first 2500 is -0- cash-back and then after that it's 1% (another sign of changing times). However, each quarter they have 'specials' that you can sign up for to get 5% on. If it is something that I use, or am interested in, then I will sign up, otherwise I don't.
