Washer Dryer vent

In the compartment where my washer and dryer would go there is two what looks like vent lines, hard 2" pvc. One has a cover on it the other does not. I am getting a smell in that closet and I am assuming the uncovered one is the drain into the Grey water and if so can I just cap that?

Thanks

No washer?
If not the stand pipe can be permanently capped.

BTW the P-trap may simply have dried out ...pour a few cups of water into the top of your stand pipe and see if that stops the smell.
