Do your parents know how it should be hooked up when they used it? Is the fresh water tank full? Does it leak when you run the water pump? Where is the water leaking? Inside the coach? In the water bay? In the shower? Under the coach?

The better the information in the question, the better the answer.

Are you saying you have no pressure unless on hose. Try faucets with hose off. Turn on pump check level in fresh tank try running off fresh tank . First thought you filling / overfilling fresh tank might have fill valve open. Overflow tube dumping on ground.
2nd In the bay with pump you may have low point drain valves
open. Look for valves that go right to/through floor.

City Water connection should just be a potable water hose screwed onto the inlet.....just like hooking up a hose to another hose or a spigot.

Are you using garden hose GASKET inside that connection.
GOT to have a regualor hose gasket to seal
