I have a question for all the knowledgable people I have read and met on this site. I have an Flowjet 4406 water pump in an 05 TS Envoy, that makes a LOUD hammering noise that I think is too much. It works fine, gives good pressure, but bangs like hell. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks Gary

ours sounds like a jackhammer in a 55 gallon drum! i gotta get to that thing and mount it in rubber. also have to make sure the lines to/from have slack in them and that they are not transferring the noise to whatever they are clamped to. good luck with yours.

There are some things to check. My pump started to make a noise and I found that it was not the pump but a loose waterline banging against the wall in the basement. Grab your waterpump while it is running and see if it makes any difference. Listen to where the noise is actually coming from. Check the rubber mounts on the pump that they are in good condition and tight. If you have an accumalator tank then shut the pump off open a faucet so zero pressure in the system and use a tire gauge and check the amount of air in the tank and check against what is specified in your owners manual. If it is low then use a bicyle pump and bring the pressure up. DO NOT USE AN AIR COMPRESSOR.
