Anyone have a suggestion on how to tone down the noise the water pumps makes? This is our 2nd MH and both had a noisy Water pump.
I thought about removing it from its current mount and putting some kind of backing on the bulkhead and reinstaling the unit? Suggestions?

Hot and cold are relative terms. It's a balmy zero degrees here today and it really does feel warm after 2 weeks of -30 degrees. Oh yeah, you had a problem with your water pump. Are you sure that it is the pump that is causing the noise and not the water lines "hammering?"

The first thing that I would try is to get some flex hoses to connect between the pump and the water lines to isolate the vibration from the stiff plastic lines. If that is not enough, make a new mount for the pump by glueing a layer of foam between two boards, with one attached to the pump and the other to the floor where it mounts. These two things should help a bunch.

Kirk,

You can move to the head of the class. That is a very good suggestive fix, when both are done together. Been there and done that, and it works.

Tnxs for the replys. I think I will try the layered board idea. My pump is attached to the side of the wall in the compartment and the compartment is made of some type of plastic, which increases the vibrations. I don't envy Chanuck. I like snow (for two weeks) and after that, I get cold. Grew up in Miami (havn't been back since the mid 60s--) Here in N Fla its cold. Got down to the low 20s last night. Even let the neighbors dog sleep in. s/Toby
