Just curious, for those of us that work 40 hours a week to afford our toys; how often do you get out to enjoy using them? We recently bought our first coach; our goal is to be out at least one weekend per month. We have a related goal of visiting every Florida state park during the next few years.

We try to get out every other weekend, we have a membership at a CG about 45 mins away that suits our needs. Trying to plan vacation time to do an out of state trip can be difficult however.

We don't have a MH, we bought our trailer in 05' and have over 300+ nights in it's 6th season.....I'm still working, 5-10 more years to go...Being up here in NE. Ohio I'll try to get out about the 10th or so of April for our first outing, as soon as we get a nice weekend and the nearby state park turns the water on. We'll do maybe 2 more weekends up until our 3 day Memorial Day Outing. Then in the summer as soon as my son is out of school usually June 8-9 we'll do 5-6 weeks of vacation. Maybe one 2 day weekend during the summer. Then a 3 day weekend over Labor Day. Then 3 more weekends during Sept and Oct. Usually in Oct we'll have a 3-4 day weekend somewhere. We have camped twice over the Thanksgiving weekend. But, usually I'll have to shut her down by then. This year Nov & Dec were very cold.....So the latest we were out was Oct 17th...this past season....

When we were weekending and vacationing we averaged 90 days per year in the rv. That was for a 7 year period. We had a rule- if we were going to spend the money on an rv, we were going to use it no less than 1 weekend per month. I'm happy to report that in those 7 years we only violated the rule about 6 times.

For the last 3 years, we average about 210 days.

DW still works so we are weekenders also. We use the coach on extended weekends (3 nights) about twice a month. Happy travels, Joe

When I was working it was one or two weekends a month. We never missed a long weekend and usually tried to extend them by taking a day of vacation at the beginning and end. Of course the longer I worked the more vacation I had and the more we were gone. Now life is just one big vacation.

As long as DW is still working, it's hard to do 2 outings/mo. Lots of other things always come up. If it weren't for the RV club, outings would be even less frequent. Joining the group was the best move we made.

Also being in OH, camping season for us is May 1- Oct 31. We usually manage to get out every couple of weekends during the summer & do 2 10-day long vacations (1 in late spring & one in fall).

Yep, about 2 weekends per month is the average for us during the camping season in Wisconsin. Some months during the season maybe only 1 weekend or even not at all, other months maybe 3 or all of the weekends, but for sure most of our vacation time is spent in the camper. For weekend camping we prefer county and state parks since the sites are usually bigger and the scenery better than private campgrounds and we have the water capacity to go 3 days easy without hookups. But for vacations where we are going to stay for a while we like to go to private campgrounds with full hookups so we don't have to move during our stay to empty and replenish.
