Well, it happened!
Motor-home got broken in to last week. Stole all TV's .Must have had pass keys,
no damage to door. Mine and one other were the target.Storage lot owner had signs up video monitored, only signs no cameras,go figure.
Any good alarm systems suggestions? Maybe a 12 GA shotgun will work.

Many motor homes share the same keys. This is especially true for basement compartments, but is also true for the deadbolt on the door.

You could wire in horn and siren on a hidden switch connected to the step light circuit. When the door is opened the thing starts wailing; scaring off most perps.

A couple trip flares and a recording of an AK-47 should do it.

I read on another forum about a battery operated small flashing red light that looks like an alarm system, but doesn't do anything. Just stick it up by the entrance door and it makes the bad guy think you have an alarm system. Radio Shack has them.

I bet a dollar if we had a couple of Marines guarding the lot nothing would get stolen. The Marines guarded our gang way on the Norton and it was never stolen even though there was an ''International Group of Gang Plank Thieves'' in good old Norfolk Va. (that was a ''ping'' Wayne. Its been a while)
Seriously, I go along with the trip switch on the door that would set off the horn or a siren. You could hide the ''switch to turn it on" inside one of the compartments. One thought ..... you would have to put it on a timer so it would reset its self after five minutes or you would drive people nutts and it would kill you batteries if left to honk and wail forever...
The ''claymores'' would be a bit much as would a trip wire with a grenade in a ''C'' rats can. You would mess up your coach by splattering doo doo all over the inside of it.

A storage lot is the last place to go if you expect security. If the place is gated and locked at night but everyone has a gate key your parts are probably still on the premises. They were "BORROWED" by a neighbor. Good luck!!

A flashing strobe, followed by a recording of a pump shotgun being racked, recording of a BIG dog and a siren going off. It that does not stop them, a couple of flash-bangs and activate a Claymore activated by a pressure plate in the door. Otherwise don't try to hurt the scum-bags.

I agree with Ken, the sound affect of a round being chambered into a pump 12 gauge should dissuade most.... Not so practical for a unit in storage though... Not so sure fake surveillance signs are at all affective....

I have a Mossburg 500 12 G with a pistol grip and an 18 1/4 inch barrel. It is pretty easy to store in our coach. I have had it for years and of course never had to get it out. It is accurate up until the shot comes out of the barrel. I think it is a great coach gun. I have #7 bird shot for the first 2 and then buckshot.
