Wet carpet

The last two times I have had to leave the campground it rained the night before. When I bring the dinette/sofa slide in and on the way out of the campground I had water running onto the carpet at the front and back of the slide. The only thing I can figure is the top of the slid is holding water. Any ideas?

If you have slide toppers they will tend to sag under the waters weight and will on occassion dump water down the slide sides. Other than that the seals would be suspect.

RVhauler I do think the slide topper will hold water but I had no water down the sides of the slide. I don't think it is a seals problem as there was no water problem while the slide was out. I think I may have been unlevel to that side though.

Use your jack and tilt it a little towards that slide. That may allow the water to run off instead of dripping inside

Even with a topper awning, there is nothing to keep some water from getting onto the top of the slide. I have learned to check the top of the galley/lounge slide for water after I bring it in. If there is water, I put a rolled towel on top on the front edge. When I fail to do that, I have got a blast of cold water down the back of my neck the first time or two I apply firm brakes !!!!

Do not bring in the slide totally closed in one motion. Bring the slide in in steps. Bring it in some and give the water time to run off. Then bring it in a little more and stop and wait. Then some more until you get the slide closed.

dons that may just do it. My slides are level with the floor so the first movement of the slide is to climb up a ramp to get above the floor, so in this position the slide is leaning away from the coach. I can stop and see if any water drains.

Yours is not an unusual complaint. If the coach is level and water blows in under the slide topper (or if you have no topper), there will likely be a thin pool of water on top. I would drop (or raise) either the front or the rear of the coach a couple inches if I suspected that, causing the water to drain to one end or the other. And bringing it in several inches and waiting a bit, as dons mentioned, also helps.
