My old Garmin I called Vicki, I had her set to Austrailian accent. My new Magellan, I call @#@$^% because it screws up so much, those people that got lost in the desert must have had one of these. It shows roads that have never exsisted, locks up and reboots all of the time. The Garmin was much better, but the power supply finally went out on it, and with the cost of the updates, and another power supply, I decided to "upgrade" to one with more features, what a mistake!

I named mine Dude. I used a program called TTS editor and change the frequent phrases to mimic Spicoli (Fast Times at Ridgemont High). At least he now entertaining while taking the "scenic route", ie "I'm so wasted " for "lost satellite reception", "what's up Mister Ham" for "off route" . you get the idea.

Our old Garmin E-Trex we simply called Trex and our new Garmen Nuvi we just call Nuvi. No imagination at all but it stuck.

I gave mine a male Australian voice and named him Mel - for Mel Gibson. I travel alone and sometimes he's the only voice I hear for days. If I'm going to hear someone telling me what to do, I can at least make it someone who I wouldn't mind telling me what to do :-)

Most DW prefer a female voice, just to hear a women tell their DH where to go.

Ours is Jane, but she's mad at us now and won't speak. It is either because DH called her the b word one too many times or cause we made her use a bad word

Our Garmin 7200 does get on our nerves with her always insisting we make a 'U-Turn' and her 'Recalculating' -- been know to call her the 'Hard Headed Bitch', but I wouldn't leave home without her!

Ours is called RUDE! If I miss a turn, she sounds just like my DW with an accent! Oh wait, that is my DW!
