I tend to use the campground showers and leave the MH for my DW. But, I am about 350 pounds so worry a bit about the shower floor.

Depends on the weather and the park facilities. The coach is always warm and convenient but a bit tight so it can go either way when the weather and facilities are agreeable.

An interesting poll, but you didn't set it up correctly. There should be a line for ALWAYS use the motorhome shower (like we do).

Having said that, we sometimes see people leaving megabuck RV's, and walking to the campground showers. And that's their choice. As with lots of things, there is no one correct solution...

My main objective when I brought my first motor home was to provide my family an always clean bathroom with a shower. I have maybe used the shower once or twice in a campground. What spend all that money and not bath in your own rig? Hmmm
I lived out of a suitcase all over the world. The last think I want to do is see another hotel room shower. There is nothing like the comforts of home. Especially when you need to shower regardless of the limitations of your rig.

I agree that using your own bathroom fully is great but I always check out the local facilities. I camped at Elk Neck State Park at the north end of Chesapeake Bay recently and we were the only ones there, the bathroom was like a sauna, spotlessly clean, great huge showers with unlimited hot water. Also we were in the lot right next to it so it was a short walk to luxury, on a cold morning it felt great.

If you have your own facilities why would you use public facilities, unless you just failed to manage your tank levels? Kind of like buying a car but continuing to use public transportation.

Call me shy but a CG shower sorry and I just posted on another fourm so I won't repeat but I will be using our's now. Always did the necessities in the MH. I would rather bath in the lake than a CG Shower.

Funny thing... when we bought our DP it was our first ever RV and we were preparing to hit the road full time. For some reason I still don't understand, we bought these two "shower caddies" to carry our toiletries with us to the CG shower.

Nothing I have purchased for the coach has gotten less use.

I think I've taken ONE shower at a CG facility. That was plenty. Plus, as others have pointed out, there's no point.

Once or twice a year I like to use the campground shower and just stand there under the running water, wasting as much as I feel like, just as hot as I want it, shaving my legs under the running water, etc., etc. I won't do it in a busy campground. I don't want to deprive people who may not have the on board amenities that I have. One year I did it twice in a month. Once after taking a longer hike than I should have at the Grand Canyon, the second time after going the long way down into Carlsbad Caverns, through, and back out the same way. My poor legs deserved that long, hot shower!

I have a 6 gallon water heater and a 35 gallon grey water tank. I deal with it, I'm clean and clean shaven, it's not a problem, but little self-indulgence once in a while hurts no one.
