We camp mainly in Ontario Provincial Parks. Most have wonderful showers which are kept spotlessly clean. They also do not have water hookups. So we use the nice showers that I do not have to clean. If we hit a park with iffy facilities then we use our own.

I always use our facilities. I didn't spend that much money to go use someone else's toilet and shower.

95% of the time we use the RV shower, it's there and it's convenient . If the RV park has nice showers, we will sometimes use those, especially if we all ( three of us) need to get showered and ready in a short period of time. I have a toiletry bag with travel size shampoo, etc so it is easy to grab and go when needed.

My wife prefers the resort showers, but I usually use the full sized shower in our 5th wheel. Sometimes it's nice to take a nice, long hot shower in the resort shower, especially after a long drive though. If it's close by, I often use their shower.

I have had an RV since 2006 and I have never used a campground bathroom for a shower or anything else for that reason. I paid the bucks to have my own throne and I intend to use just it.

But everyone to their own likes.

We always check out the facilities at the campground. Many times they are amazing, tiled and spotless with lots of hot water. The State Parks in Utah for example are awesome. With good weather and nice facilities we will use them but end up using our shower at least half of the time. We are not "big"people so we have no size/space issues even in our 24' C.

During the warm months we use our own shower but when it get to 30 degress or less we use the one at the gym/work out room so as to not have it freeze and break our gray tank. Black tank we use rv antifreeze to flush with.

I should mention, in case some didn't know about this yet, most health plans now have what is known as a Silver Sneakers FREE gym membership. The way it works is you sign up at your participating home gym and then can use gyms all over the country, and it seems that most gyms participate in the program. I don't remember if it is only for over 55s or some age requirement or not.

That is the first thing I do when I am getting close to a town or city of my nightly destination. Check my GPS for local gyms in the area and call to see if they participate in the program. Most seem to.

So there I have a regular place to work out, steam, sauna, and shower. I have also found that I am able to park overnight in the rear of the parking lot when done exercising. I have even pulled into a town late at night and located the participating gym and simply parked in their lot until they open in the morning. I then go in and let them know that it was I in the M.H. waiting for them to open.

Haven't had any problem yet and it adds another free place to spend the night on top of the Walmarts, Costcos, rest stops, and RR tracks I have stayed at. RR tracks are not advisable....I have a great story for another time about that and my night's stay in a small town.

The poll did not allow for multiple answers, but I'm 97% RV shower and 3% sink/sponge bath (when not using water hookups). It took a while for DW to start using it, but I think she's 100% RV shower now, unless we're staying at one of her daughters' houses. When we have RV guests, they use the CG showers, except an occasional grandchild.

After 7 years I have only used a CG shower once. We were camping at Fort Wilderness and didn't have time in the evenings to run 5 of us through the RV shower. My son and I went to the comfort station and the showers were fantastic. Still prefer the RV though.

It's a motor HOME. We use its facilities just as we do in the stick and mortar home.
