What happened ?? Need Help!

On our last coach we had a Norcold 1200 4dr. I found on eBay a fan that had two fans maybe 3” diameter in a metal case that I was able to wire to the 12v power at the light. It had a clip that worked as a ground and would attach to the fins , could move it to keep fins clear of ice, plus move the air in the refer.
I have not been able to find one . I remember they were less than $20.00. Would like to find one for our new MH . To me it was much nicer than the ones that are battery operated and set on a shelf.
Hoping someone will know where I can find one! Thanks in advance!

Is this the one you are thinking of? It used to be available on eBay but I don't see it any more.

This worked well for me and was worth the extra expense, click the attachment for a larger view or the gray arrow to get to the thread

You're welcome - I've had one for about 6 years. I do need to replace one of the fans but with a drop of 3 - 1, it just keeps on going.

I bought 3 12v computer fans with very low amp draw on eBay for $5. Drilled holes in the cooling fin and attached them together. Wired in a switch with power from the light. Works great, no frosting up, even temp throughout.

Before I tossed my notcold I tried the fans. Waste of money.
The only way to fix it is to replace it. Try a Samsung counter depth 3 door. Best 1k I every spent

Beg to differ ! I used the fans , and found them to keep the fins from frosting up , plus moving the air . No longer have the not so cold , our class c refer is a dometic . We used to live in Mh all winter , minimum four months . Now only short stays , with much smaller refer, this works to move air without wasting space.

Try it at 100 degs for a couple of weeks and you'll change your mind. We full time and I can't even remember how much food we've thrown away. Now I must say, maybe the Dolphin wasn't meant to live in full time. Norcold and dometic prove that. Now only is my food cold, I've eliminated the fire potential. That alone is priceless. I'm glad the fans worked for you. Any above 80 degrees for extended periods of time, rv refers can't keep up

I understand what your saying. Our Norcold was not by any means perfect. I installed fans on the roof under the cover , that seemed to help in Florida heat . Luckily we never lost food . I have read several threads , where folks switched to residential. I would have went that route had it died. We sold our mh , and bought a place south to spend the winter. We are still in touch with the folks that bought it an they have been trouble free , knock wood ! Missed having the RV , so took the plunge again .
Wishing you Safe Travels !

Our 17 yr old Dometic fridge is on the shady side of our pernament spot in Arizona. With the linked fan above installed, an adjustable Dinosaur board and a 6inch fan blowing air across the coils, I keep ice cream solid in the freezer and the fridge under 40 when the temps are approaching 100deg. If/when it dies, I will replace with a residential.
