Other than the obvious, what does it do besides disconnect the batteries from the converter.
I tried to search and found 722 hits, but none mention what it is for.
I use it to remove the batteries, but there has to be another reason.

I don't think it stops power to the inverter in my RV and the inverter continues to draw power even though almost everything else is off.

Large inverters and inverter/chargers usually are NOT wired through the disconnect, because it is necessary to keep the cables large and as short as possible.
