New install or replacment?

Online like Amazon or others may be best price for unit.

Install depends, if never was a generator then lots of work and cost.

If replacement of existing then can be cheap.

You will need to find local vendor if you cannot DIY, but get your delivered price for ordering the generator first.

Your installer may be able to get better price or discount the labor if he provides unit.

Either way, get quite in writting for complete out the door price including warranty.

Be sure party doing the work is licensed to do it so it is some correctly...many folks will try and do not have a clue.

Electricians and some auto-upfitters as well as most places that sell the generators are qualified.

If existing one is being replaced can be done for beer by a friend...

The gas gen is about $2800 (probably doesn't include exhaust - I think it might be another $100 for exhaust, flange, supports, etc). Installation and connection, if it's replacing an existing one would probably 2-3 hours - as long as it's replacing an existing one. If it's a new install, I could see that easily doubling once you include running the various cables plus the cost of the cables themselves.

$3200 complete with 6% sales tax at my local dealer, Northside RV, Lexington, KY. I'm sure I could have eventually found a better deal, but I needed a new generator in a hurry for an upcoming trip, and they did a great job.
