What is this gadget?

Hello all, since their is a lot of talk going on for RVers to use the ch.13 for CB channel i thought I dig up my CB out of my storage. The previous owner had one installed before cause there is an antenna on the roof. I have no problem wiring the CB, but what the heck is this...see pix. Is this some sort of aftermarket accessory for the CB? Thx

Well I can take a guess that is an adapter to use the AM/FM antenna as a CB antenna, However. the Pix.. IS NOT ATTACHED, so this is based on your statement avout the prior owner install, and no visual evidence.

Please try again on the pix.

Or it COULD BE a tomato, we may never know, ('cause we seem to have lost the OP).

The metal box on the wall is part of a Cobra 75 WX ST CB radio and the connector in the pliers is the head/mic connector. I can see that the red and black power wires are cut and the antenna is not connected.
