What is this Peeling from My End Cap

Is it clear coat? It feels like a plastic coating you find on some products that may or may not eventually peel off.

That's clear coat. That happens when the paint underneath is not prepped proper before the clear coat is applied. Any body shop can fix it fairly cheep.

Looks more like the 3-M covering for the front cap...
Google "3-M" here on iRV2 and read for hours.

I will go with clear coat. The back cap on mine just started peeling, and the clear coat is really thick where it started at, and looks like hazed plastic. The estimate to fix both the front and the back is a little under $3,500.

Looks just like the peeling of my clear coat. The dark colors peeled first and now the intermediate color is beginning to peel. The white paint clear coat is still intact.
