What to put under Jacks?????

I presume these are the honeycombed type "leveling blocks"?? I suspect my 40' diesel would soon tear those things up if under the jacks or tires.

Ditto on the cutting boards. I found them at Walmart for about 5.00 each, they are green so great vizability and with the hand hold for a rope on them no problem.

I have used the idea that Winnebago poasted on their Web site not just fort he wheels, but also the leveling jacks. they shoudl hold any weight.
i hope this works.

How thick are your cutting boards? I have thought about those also, but on a soft surface such as wet ground and sand, I wasn't sure on a good thickness to help prevent them from sinking/shifting. I understand the thickness depends on the rig. But say a 16 ton rig for instance, would something like 3/8ths inch be thick enough? Or would something closer to an 3/4"? At pplmotorhomes.com I found a set of pads they recommend for hyd. leveling jacks rated at 40,000 psi for 45.00 or so.

Mine are standard cutting boards, I guess apx 3/8". My MH has GVWR of 16 ton. My cutting boards do flex a little sometimes, and then straighten themselves out when not in use. I've been using the same set for about 4 1/2 years now. I've used them on all kinds of surfaces. Sometimes they are pushed a inch or so into soft ground, but that is very rare. Only once did I have a little problem on the edge of a grassy area. One jack pushed a pad about 15" into the ground. When I pulled it out, it was curved a bit, but not bad.

Thickness will not prevent them from being pushed into the ground. If they are a great deal larger surface area than your leveling jack feet, thick may help to keep them from flexing as much. But remember that flexing some isn't a bad thing ...that's why I use the cutting boards rather than plywood. The cutting boards return to their original shape while plywood will crack, splinter, etc.

Thanks for the info AFCHAP, it makes sense. Is the in 'AF' in AFCHAP mean Air Force? I have 26 years and counting.

Yep, I retired in Nov 2005 with 26.5 active years, and almost 31 with Reserve time prior to active duty.
