Whats up with the wind shield wiper?

We have a 2008 Damon on a Workhorse chassis. It has set scene last fall hooked up to a trickle charger with the batteries disconnected. When I went out to move it the wind shield wipers started running and I cant turn them off. I turned the wipers on and off several times the speed wont change and they just keep running any ideas would be help full. We are in the process of selling all of our things and the sticks and bricks so we can full time in November so I haven't had time to look at it but would like some idea of where to start.

Disconnect all the connectors wire brush them, coat with di-electric grease and plug them back together and test.
Wipers going crazy are 99% due to being grounded, w/o regard to the switch & usually by water.
After you clean up the connections make sure they're out of any water flow and the plug is upside down and/or covered.

This seems to be a common problem with the windshield wipers on the Workhorse Chassis.

Our 2006 Allegro Open Road had the same problem and after having it worked on by 2 different dealers under warranty I finally pulled the fuse for the wipers under the dash and replaced it with an on/off switch that I mounted on the dash with an inline fuse.

I had the same problem in driving rain this week driving from Houston to Rockport. After everything dried out it is working fine. I thought about wrapping the main connection with tape but your suggestion sounds better. Water and Workhorse does not go together at all this includes engine missing when it get really wet.
