Which PSW inverter/charger to replace Xantrex RV2012GS?
I want to replace my existing MSW-based Xantrex RV2012GS with a pure sine wave inverter/charger. I also have the Xantrex RC/GS remote monitor panel and would want something compatible or replace that with something comparable if the new unit requires that. I don't really need the auto gen start function as I have the Onan EC-30W unit which serves the same purpose.
There is nothing wrong with my existing setup other than I don't want an MSW setup. I'll sell off the old unit once I replace it with the new one.
Looking for opinions and thoughts on what others would do.

I replaced my Xantrex with Magnum Energy hardware. I got the 3000 watt hybrid inverter, the auto gen start module, the fancy controller, and the battery monitor. I liked the warranty on the hardware plus being able to talk to a tech was nice also.
You can find the best prices here iMarine USA - Search
They are the cheapest on the net plus they have good service.

I looked at their website and prices do look good. I did not however see the hybrid unit you mentioned out there - did you purchase that through them? Is it a special order?

The inverter I bought is this one Magnum Energy MSH3012M 3000 Watt 12V Inverter/Charger with 120VAC Output
It says out of stock but if you call, they will get one shipped to you. It was out of stock when I bought but I had it within a week. Free shipping to boot helps because these things are heavy.

Sadly, to the best of my knowledge there is no replacement that is compatible with the Xantrex RC7 remote or Xantrex AGS. Xantrex doesn't make a compatible replacement and the other inverter manufacturers have their own remotes and related control modules.
I have the Xantrex RV2512, nearly identical to yours, and could not find any upgrade path that did not require total replacement.

Thanks Gary, it started to look that way given the other responses and my own research - all or nothing.

Ready to install
I purchased the Magnum MSH-3012M unit along with the battery monitor kit and their ARC-50 remote controller. It's all pretty cut and dry in terms of installation minus one question.
There seems to be two grounds on the older Xantrex unit I'm replacing. One looks the same as on the Magnum unit so I think I'm good there. The other one on the Xantrex (big red arrow) is using a 2/0 cable run into a terminal on the unit labeled "RV ground terminal". I've attached a system diagram of both the Xantrex unit and the Magnum unit from their manuals.
My question is should I connect the 2/0 cable from the Xantrex to the ground terminal on the Magnum? I called Magnum and spoke to a tech on this and he wasn't familiar with the Xantrex wiring but tended to agree it's just another means of grounding.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't have AGS, but the basic Magnum remote had the same footprint as the remote for my Xantrex Freedom 458. They both use regular phone wire to connect to the inverter so I was able to pop the old remote out and connect the new one. If I wanted to add AGS I think I would use the Cummins/Onan wireless unit; it's ~$600 and doesn't require connection to anything other than the generator and its outputs.

Does that schematic show batteries connected in series, or am I losing it again?
Do you have a 48V system?

Those diagrams are mainly examples, not exactly representing my system. My battery configuration is 4-6v's connected in series/parallel to provide the 12v to the inverter. I'm not changing that configuration from what's currently connected to the Xantrex.

6V...golf cart batteries? OEM?
Brings up a good question. Would the 4 house batteries be more beneficial if they were deep cycle (like marine) batteries?
