Donut Lover, Thank you for your long service!
I highly recommend reading the S.M.A.R.T.= Special Military Active Retired Travel club website to see if it is appealing to your interests. I like it for the feeling of belonging to a group with common interests and history. In 2012 we joined their Alaska caravan and talk about different aspects of it today. In 2014 we joined their Canada Maritimes Caravan, it was just as exciting as the Alaska Caravan. We have hundreds of photographs of each trip to enjoy this winter, as we stayed home to catch up on our home upkeep.
Check out escapees.com to see if it interests you, I know it is mainly for full-timers, and has a lot of part-timer members too.

We belong to PPA= PassPort America and stay for 50% off regular price. We saved the annual membership dues the first week we joined.
We belong to Good Sam mainly for their Emergency Roadside Assistance Program, because I've found any RV park offering 10% discounts gives the same for retired military with ID.

Your US Govt Sr. Pass with the National parks, etc also works with the Corp of Engineer parks. But--I have found it is really hard to manipulate there sites sometimes.

There is a Book -- Camping With the Corps of Engineers: The Complete Guide to Campgrounds Built and Operated by the U.S. Army Corps.

http://http://www.amazon.com/Camping...Engineer+Parks

That really breaks it out much better. It is really handy to have. It shows you their locations, etc. With the pass you camp for 1/2 price.
