I own a 2004 Georgetown 325SE Class A. I have had a problem with wind noise & whistling noise at hwy. speeds. I found that the whistling noise is coming from the 14" CB fiberglass antenna that is mounted at a slight angle on the windshield pillar. I changed the antenna to a longer thinner fiberglass one & put a tennis ball on it (as the radio tech suggested), but it still makes noise. Any suggestions?

weep holes in window frames have ben identified as culprits in past posts in some situations. We had a whistling due to the passenger side mirror position. This was made worse if the wind happened to be off that quarter.

Like Doc posted, weep holes in the lower window frame make the noise. A quick test is to drive a few miles at highway speeds to get a noise check. Stop and put tape over the cotpit window weep holes on driver and passenger windows. Drive a few more miles and see if the noise has gone away. This problem has been around since the weep hole design was implemented. There are covers you can buy. What I did was put black electrician tape over the front holes for each window. I put the purchased covers on the rear holes. This has worked for me since my first coach in 1978.

My 02 Bounder whistled and it drove me nuts. Finally determined that the front grill was the culprit. I moved the angle of the fins slightly and the noise was gone.

My CB antenna is so noisy that I unscrewed the antenna from the base and store it inside. Only mount it if I have a specific need for it, like several us traveling in convoy. We mostly use the FRS radios anyway.
