Who drives separate?

Hi,

For those who drive seperate do you drive in convoy? If so does the MH go in front or behind?

Thanks,

We drove separate one vacation when the Jeep we had was in an accident & it wasn't ready to tow before we had to leave & I had to drive my non-towable car.

I drove behind the coach. Mostly because DH had the GPS with the destinations in the coach. Partially to run lane changing interference for him. For example, if we were running through a city on a multiple lane freeway where there were many entrance ramps coming into the right lane, I'd move over in the middle lane first to keep cars from coming through that lane so DH could move into it & out of the high merge right lane. Once through that high traffic area, I'd move back over to the right lane first so DH would know it's clear for him to move over.

For 10 years we both drove. We always ran with rv ( in our case truck and 5er) first so that the car following could see what falls off. Had a few medical issues which made driving 2 a bit awkward so we now tow a car with a mh.

Thanks Lori and Netjam,

Half our trips my wife follows behind if we need a car or kayaks at the location.

We do have 2 way radios we use to check in every so often.

Hi Lori,

I hear what your saying about driving in the middle lane :-)

Almost exactly what we do. These days we just move from Georgia to Florida in the spring and back in the fall, less than 1,000 miles total. In fact we recently replaced our 2012 CRV with a 2018 which is not towable 4 down, so towing is no longer and option for us.

Hi Bruce,

That's a shame the newer CRV's are not flat towbale.

All but one of our trips this year are less than 150 miles from home, my wife will drive our Toyota Sequioa with Kayaks on the roof and our Labrador with her. We do have one trip 500 miles away but will rent a car at the location.

I do 3 weekend trips with my buddies and one of them will have a car or truck along.

How do you keep the lab on the roof with the kayaks?

Hi Rooster,

What constitutes close to home? When driving seperate does the MH go in front or back.

Hi Skiddy,

Ah, you need a truck bed to carry the deer. Do you tow the boat with your MH?

Hi Skiddy,

The new ranger would make a great toad.
