Who made headlight assembly for 2006 Bounder 38L DP?

I know you are supposed to be able to look at headlight assembly and get part number off of it but for the life of me I can't find it.!

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping someone could give me the manufacturer as the stock (as these headlights are) ones suck. They are dangerous to drive with at night so I don't do it. I know a lot has been written about poor headlights on rvs and I was just hoping I could find an aftermarket replacement that might be better!

The headlight assembly you have is probably a Chinese copy of some Ford light and the optics are all messed up. If you buy an aftermarket part, you'll probably get something as bad or worse than what you have.

Have you thought about switching to HID or LED?

The big issue I've noticed on older coaches, mine included, is the voltage drop by the time the 12v gets to the head lights. Mine is right at 10v.

HIDs or LED are my next project

Are you saying Fleetwood would have used a cheap Chinese knockoff😨?

That's my guess. My Damon headlights are Criminally bad and are definitely Chinese copies of a Ford Explorer. Optics are so bad that sometimes I can't tell if they're on. Bigger bulbs don't help, the light is just too badly scattered.

Terry;

Almost all of the manufacturers use off the shelf headlamps from various models. You have to look really close, but there should be a number molded into the clear part of the headlight assembly. That's the DOT number and a search for it will locate the proper replacement. For example, I replaced the assemblies on my 2006 Itasca and they were from 1996-1999 Ford Windstar Van. The cost on Amazon was less than $60 for two complete assemblies and they even came with bulbs. They may have been aftermarket knockoffs, but they were a vast improvement over the sun hazed ones. The ones on our Tiffin are from Chevy Silverado Pickups.

Yep, there are DOT numbers on the face of the units. Get them and do a search on the internet. That's how I found one for our rig after I found one of the adjusters broken. I also replace the standard bulb with LED's. Did have to modify the back cover to allow room for the heat sink and fan.

I searched and discovered my headlamp assys. are from a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria; used on a MH built in late 1999.
Write down the data on your headlamp assy. and begin your search using the w/pictures feature of the search engine.
I have lost the link to where I found mine. I seem to remember it was in an old thread in the Winnebago forum.
One guy got so tired of searching he had some custom fiberglass work done and installed a completely new HID system. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f84/led-h...on-295777.html

I have really searched the assembly (short of removing it) and there is no number or any letters on it.

From the info in your other post linked above (I did have the years a bit off, picture is right), try this:

FORD 2004-2008 F150 AFTERMARKET LEFT HAND HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
TYC P/N 20-6458-00

There's others out there, Depo is another big aftermarket brand.
