Who's Right me or the DW, head North or South?

We will be leaving southern California the end of march for a 4 month trip. The route is leaving Los Angeles heading toward New Mexico up to North Dakota east to Michigan then south to Tennessee and finally home. I want to do the southern portion first because of possible snow and or bad weather in the northern parts The DW wants to head north which would put us in Nebraska late part of April and North Dakota late April early May We can route our schedule either way. Whose right

This always shakes out the same way in our house: I'm always right but Mrs Freqz always wins.

Steve
We were in SD Black Hills mid May 2016. A little cool at night, warmed up during the day. A lot of campgrounds do not open till May 1st in the north. When we get April snow in MN it's gone in a day or 2. We stayed at Prairie View in Granite Falls MN last April. Weather was good might go again this year or maybe Mystic Lake.

I don't even have to read the post. DW is never wrong. But I would vote for the route you mentioned.

In private your right. In public the DW is always right.

At least that's the way it works in my house.

Stay well south of the Mason Dixon line until at least early Jine. That is unless you like freezing mornings.

I look at it this way; I can be right or I can be happy. After 32 years of marriage, I pick happy. Have fun whichever way you go.

I didn't even have to read the question to know the answer - of course she's right!

That said, I lived in Iowa for 20 years, I learned that winter isn't over for SURE until June - we had blizzards in May. Nebraska in April, you're pretty much guaranteed cold weather and maybe some snow. However as pointed out, it likely won't stay around long.

We lived outside of Denver in the foothills and the only month we never saw snow was August
Now in the philosophical world of course you are right. IN the real world who are you kidding of course she is right.
Just don't say too often in the morning..."Gee honey if we had gone the other way you would not be wearing sweats and gloves this morning"

The last time I let the DW win an argument about routes, it cost us a week of being iced in. 4 at night and 14 in the daytime isn't fun.

With the weather patterns we are seeing now, no way would I head north right away
