Why should I even bother with a newer\better coach
Hi,
We purchased our 2005 F53 Damon Daybreak in July 2016 to see if we would like the lifestyle.
I worked out today we will roughly drive our coach for 2500 miles this season and use it 8-10 time for total of about 35-40 nights.
Why should I even be bothering looking at newer coaches.
A 5 or 6 speed gear box (have 4 speed), auto jacks (have semi auto), electric awning, dual screen windows would be nice, but do I really need them.
:-)

You sound like a very practical person. Too bad most of us aren't that logical!
We too are very happy with the 16-year old coach we have!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

If your needs change you can upgrade, if not keep what you have.
I like to look just to see what's new and different.

We like to go to the RV shows and see all the beautiful coaches, but we make sure to leave the checkbook at home!

For the way you plan to use your motorhome now, no I would not buy a new one. For sure, the newer gas motorhomes with 6 spd transmission are much better driving and quieter (my 1st was a 2004 Georgetown), but if you maintain yours well, you will get wherever you want. Enjoy your motorhome. The best is still to come for you. If you really get the RV'ing bug as you find what a wonderful enabler your MH turns out to be (many do), then you can reconsider what you want/need. Happy travels.

IMO, rv's are mostly about wants, not needs. We also like to go look at other rv's with more features. While we "want" some of those new features, we don't really need them. Like the OP, when we see one we really want, we break it down into what are we getting different, and how much are we paying for it. So far, we have decided that what we have meets our "wants". Who knows about tomorrow or next month? Might just take the check book along if the right one pops up!

The 5 star tune did help a lot.
I got to stop looking on autotrader :-)

I put a Bank's Power Pak Pak and Brazel's UltraPower (like 5 Star) tune on my Georgetown. It really needed both. Had it for 13 seasons and loved the lifestyle so much decided to get a new one. Hope you have the same experience. Just one word of advice. Do not wait for the"right" time to get out in it. Just go. Experience everything you can in it. Life is short. Just remember, the only thing to do when you sit sit in that drivers seat is have fun. And you will.

Another forum you (ok, I) had to stay away from was “What was the last thing you bought for you RV”. [emoji33] That’s a checkbook drainer!

It's fun to look, but like you, we set the bar pretty high because our coach is in "perfect" shape and you never know about the next one that comes along.

I guess because you saved all of your life and want to enjoy a newer coach...... and you can live with the fact our MH's are going down in value (typically).
