I have a set of the 12" LED fluorescent replacements. I'm sure the have a regulator built into them. The front set, which is pretty much right under the TV antenna causes interference to weak signals. Not much of an issue, just turn off the light when watching TV...

I assume there is some kind of interference.
Is there anyone that can explain this to me AND offer a solution?

Thank You for the time and effort to reply.
I know you want a simple answer and solution but there are too many possible variables and not enough actual hard data for some one not on site with the needed equipment to render a quick answer.

The two seemingly contradictory items pose a problem in logic as to causation of loss of signal. Unless the fan also uses an electronic speed control. If it does then we have a common thread to follow.

Neither the LED lamps or a motor speed control have a sufficiently wide signal to obliterate all TV channel frequencies because of the extremely wide range of signal frequencies AT THE RECEIVER. But a sufficiently strong signal at ANY frequency could "swamp" the booster and reduce the gain to a level where the TV can no longer recover the signal.

It will require removing the booster from the signal path and connect the antenna directly to the TV. If reception is possible then the booster is the culprit. No sense replacing it since they will all operate the same. An alternative is connect a set of rabbit ears to the TV.

If the TV still can not obtain signal then the TV is being over loaded.

This scenario explains the fan involvement but offers no solution to you.

As an additional data point, substituting an other TV might give more information.

In any case, a methodical, professional attempt at a remedy will be very costly. A well equipped RF technician could find the cause quickly but that doesn't equate to a solution acceptable to you.

Seems to me that your best bet is find an alternative to the LED reading lamps or turn them off as has been previously suggested..

Yep! RFI is a strange bird, but I don't let it bother me.
I had 3 fluorescent lights in the middle of the ceiling. Weak or strong antenna signal didn't matter. If they were on, no TV. With weak cable, no. Strong cable, yes.
Switched them all to LED. All good with cable. No good with antenna.
The switch for those lights is right near me. Greatest mute button ever.
It the ceiling lights are on TV has a glare. With rim lights on, perfect.
Eh. I live with it!

I should add, the main "Kitchen" florescent in my kitchen used to take out 75 meter ham band rather nicely when turned on.....

But the ballast finally failed (DC ballast is really an inverter) so I replaced it with a several strips of LED lights.. about 50% more light (GOOD THING) Brighter whiteer (Both of which I consider good) Cool white LED's.. No interference. well designed, I did not have to modify.

No TVI that I've seen either (Television Interference) all good.

NOT DIMMABLE however..

Got the LED's from All Electronics, come on a reel.

Led vs TV ant

Some tv antennas use 12 v. power .... LED use 12v power or a reduced power supply @ 5vdc from a 12volt source .... probably a noisy 12v line or an excessive draw ( current ) .... maybe a loose connection .... thus causing an interference in the whole 12v power line ..
