Windsheild leaking...Need advice

I have a 93 Rexhall Aerbus that has started to leak from the top of the trim work at the windshield. The question I have is, Can I put silicone across the outside of the windshield at the top of the rubber?

If so, how long should I wait after the rain passes to do it?

I think you should take the trim off before siliconeing it will make for a neater job.

One thing to check is your running lights they are known for leaking and water running down the windsheild. ( just a thought )

The previous post recommended polyurethane or silicone caulk. I would stick with only those caulks recommended for windshields. Perhaps your home improvement center can recommend one for you. You need to caulk the gasket around the windshield. I would try to carefully raise the gasket with a tool and get some caulk between the glass and gasket. Also, caulk between the gasket and the fiberglass. Be very careful not to get excess caulk on the fiberglass. It will show up later.
