windshield wiper motor
The park position for my wipers has changed. Turning them on and off, I can not stop the wipers in the normal position. They still work but it is bothersome to have them in my field of vision. It is on a '94 Holiday Rambler Alumalite dp. The wiper motor is a Sprague # E005-159 E-008-11. Can't find that motor at any site I've looked. Does anyone know if this motor can be rebuilt and if I must replace, do I need the exact same motor to replace. Thanks, I'll be doing the Rain-x thing for now.

The connecting arm may have slipped. If you can access the area up under the front where the wiper motor is, remove the nut at the end of the motor shaft and reposition the link/bar and replace the nut. That's all I had to do on mine with a Sprague motor.

We just took the motor to the local auto parts store and just had them look up the part for a 1993 or a 1989 Ford truck, perferably something like a 350. Turns out its very close to the same part for us for a windshield wiper motor and it was $15 just a few days ago for us.

If it parks but in the wrong position the problem is in the linkage not the motor.

I just repositioned mine yesterday. You remove the wiper linkage from the motor, turn the wipers on and let it run for a couple of seconds , turn them off so the motor is in the park position then put the wipers where you want them to stop and put the linkage arm back on the motor. The trouble I was having was they would park at the bottom for a second or two then jump up 6 inches and stop there, and this has been happening for 5 years and finally decided to try and fix it. It's raining now and went out , turned them on watched them for 5 mins on the delay. It was awesome to see them stop at the bottom every time. I guess it doesn't take much to make me happy!

To mikeandreva - and anyone else with a Sprague wiper motor. If you ever need to find a new motor or other wiper parts, these folks can likely get you a proper replacement.

Thanks for the link Nick. I noticed they also sell step motors. Got it bookmarked.
