Winterizing in Eastern North Carolina

This post is for anyone who stores/garages their motorhome in eastern NC, specifically near Greenville. Our coach will be in storage in the Greenville area until early January and are wondering if we need to winterize and if so by when? I am assuming that the answer is yes, winterize, so the real question is how long can we wait before we winterize?

Thanks and regards,

How long is a piece of string? Winterize before it freezes! If you are there, you should know yourself by the weather, but in any event winterize it before you leave it.

Freezing temps are difficult to predict in eastern NC.

Good Luck!
Wil.

We keep ours in an enclosed old tobacco warehouse in Kinston, NC. Didn't winterize it last year but we didn't use it much prior to storage. We did have the coldest winter here in a long time. We pay $1 per day. There is no electrical for hookup, but that hasn't been a problem.
In your case, go ahead and winterize it. Better safe than sorry.

HAGD,
Alex

I have an extra acre of land and 50A hookup. You are welcome to keep it here and I will exercise it regularly.

I was just south of there late last Oct., water froze in ours. No damage thankfully. I would definitely winterize.

Greenville is about an hour north of here and you should definitely winterize. Not sure there will be any freezing weather until after thanksgiving, but likely before Christmas. If you are not going to be using it, then will not lose anything by doing it now

Near Aiken, SC, not far from Augusta, GA, the home of the Masters.

It freezes here in the Winter but winterizing not really needed until January.

Heres a tip. In the spring after dewintering

run the coach using the waterpump and fresh tank
only. This is an easy way to check for frozen
lines as any leak will make your pump run which
you can hear.
