Wireless Key Fob Not Working

Good Morning All........

My partner and I are very new to the DP world but, loving the learning process that comes along with it! We have a "New To Us" 2014 Fleetwood Expedition 38S. We purchased "VERA" in August 2016. We've noticed that both of our "Key Fobs" have stopped working. The red LCD light comes-on when the units are pressed but, the doors don't open.

Might anyone want to share your wisdom, insight or experiences on this matter? Any type of guidance would be greatly appreciated!

God Speed and Happy Camping To All,

"Virginia Newbies"

There are two parts, right? The fob (which has a battery), and the radio receiver that the fobs talk to. If the fob light activates but neither fob works, I would be looking at the receiver. It may have lost power (fuse), or its antenna may be blocked or disconnected, or maybe it just quit. A glitch could have interrupted its programming too, so re-programming to the fobs might get it going again.

You should have a small manual for the locks in the set that [hopefully] came with the coach, but if not you can probably get one online. Fleetwood used to utilize locking systems from HDC Poplocks, but I don't know if that's what yours has or not. A call to Fleetwood Customer Service should help identify what you have and where to get help.

More than likely you need new batteries. Even if the light on the fob comes on it doesn't take a lot to lite a LED. That's the easiest first step.

We had one of these of our TT. Loved it. Make sure the switch is "ON" in the door receiver and replace the battery too. Both key fobs work but not the door....it has to be the receiver.

va22973......open the door to your coach and look for the brass contacts toward the bottom right side of the door frame......that correspond with the two brass contacts mounted in the door.

Clean those brass contacts (two round balls) on both the frame and the door with a green Scott Brite pad so they are nice and shiny.

Now see if your remote door lock works?
