Yellow door

I have a 1999 Triple E Commander and the door is yellow compared to the rest of the motorhome. Is yhere any way to whiten the door?

It might be clear-coated or have some other coating that yellowed. You could try using a stripper or compound buffing it. If you are talking about a plastic surface, they tend to yellow with age. Painting is probably the only option, but making match the surrounding will be tough.

It looks like fiberglass, not plastic. Every Triple E that I saw was also yellowed.

Try Bleach-White(sp) for tires/whitewalls at your risk. Try in a small area. I have used it on tons of stuff, best was I wanted to clean the curtain rods in the S&B and it striped the paint right off clean, so I repainted them and they look great... remember use at your own risk. Let me know if it worked or not, be careful.

Hate to be discouraging, but we had a 5th wheel that the door did that, and I never found anything that would fix it!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I was hoping not to paint. I'm not sure how well this will show up but here is a picture showing the yellowed door and refer vent.

Sorry
If you would have asked: "Is there any way to whiten the door besides paint"?...I would not have bothered to reply.

It's a simple matter of different materials reacting to ultraviolet and other environmental factors differently. Your dilemma is very common on unpainted RVs and, unfortunately, I'm not aware of any permanent solution other than paint.

Well, it was worth a shot asking. I figured that there wasn't much I could do, but you never know what secret fixes some people have out there.

I had that on my first 5er and used "Awsome" cleaner at near full strength. I let it sit for a few minutes and the yellow just washed off with water. You can get "Awsome" at Dollar General or Wal-Mart. I don't know how long it will last but it was real easy to clean.

I don't know if I have ever seen "awesome" cleaner here in Canada.

Thumbs up Yes

This stuff is "awesome". sorry had to do that.

We keep two spray bottles on hand at all times. One for the house and one in the RV. You also can buy it in a gallon jug refill.
