Zep Wax Users

Do you apply the Zep Wax diluted or full strength?

Are you happy with your results?

So far so good. I put 4 costs on the drivers side and 3 on passenger from the basement up. 3 on front and back. Did this originally in February 2018. Will put on another here soon. I used full strength with a roller sponge mop. Looks great but decals are faded. My Dutchstar is a 2000 and figured this would be an easy maintenance. I don't think it's for everyone though as this has been covered in other threads.

Do not put it on heavy. Use very thin coats full strength. It will look like crap until the third coat. The mistake people make is trying to make it look good on the first coat and putting it on too heavy.

I put it on a Gulfstream I had and it was great for a couple of years. They when I tried to get it off and reinstall I couldn't get it off.

I have removed the Zep Wax with their remover for @ $10 per gallon. I applied it full strength, in the shade, and let it sit for about 10 minutes before flushing.

Two applications and the full side of my rig had the wax removed.

I have applied the Zep full strength and removed it full strength, basically ignoring their dilution instructions.

Hence my original question. Seems like most are not diluting.

Not sure why one would dilute the stuff before application. Seems that would cause you to need even more coats before it looks good. The idea is to fill the pits in the fiberglass to get a good smooth shine. I used Mop and Glo which is essentially the same product or concept on my last MH. Worked well also. What I think some people think is it’s a once and done application. One still needs to provide UV protection to the final coat, and overtime apply a new coat.

Prep is essential, otherwise you are wasting your time and money. Oxidation must be removed before you start application. Did this on a 92 fleetwood and the results were outstanding. Took 3 days and was worth the effort.

We had a 93 Bounder that we put Zep on. I thought it came out great.

Zep is not a wax. What it is a floor polish. Some people seem to like it. Others like me find it a total pile of do do.

Thanks for your refined opinion, but as the OP, I really could not care less about what you think!

$16.97 for a gallon of it. It did 4 times around our 32' bus with plenty left over. Who really cares if it is polish or wax. It rejuvenated our 93 Bounder and that's all that mattered. This may be hard to believe but not one person came up and asked if it was a wax or a polish. Maybe it's just not that important.
