Does pulling the 30 amp fuse change anything mechanical for towing or is it to keep the battery from going dead? I have a charge line installed from the coach to the dinghy & that should keep the battery charged. Will the miles on the speedometer increase if the fuse isn't pulled?

On my 06 Vue the fuse removal kills power to the ignition switch and prevents draining the battery. I do not know if the milage will register or not as I have not tried to tow with the fuse left in. Has any body tried it?

I have the answers.  The miles do not accumulate if the 30 amp fuse is left in. The fuse removal is only to keep the battery from going dead. A Saturn Tech told me yesterday that he knew of no consequences from not pulling the fuse while towing, I made a 60 mile test run this morning and everything worked fine. The drain appears to be only 3 amps or so depending what accessories are left on.

FYI: I've installed a switch so I don't have to pull the fuse. Forgot to flip the switch and two days of towing later (about 42hours of battery drain) the battery was stone dead. It looks like pulling the fuse is optional if you are going to drive your toad daily or have that charge line.
