1996 Endevour LE diesl with Freightliner XC chassis

I have the above configuration and cannot get an answer to the question regarding the towing capacity of this unit....

The current HR customer support still has a lot of data on older vehicles. I can tell you that Freightliner did not produce the tow hitch with the chassis until about 2006. They can tell you the GCWR of the chassis, but the final capacity numbers come from HR and the hitch manufacturer.

As already said, contact Freightliner for the chassis GVWR and GCWR. The chassis tow capacity is the difference. Whether HR used a hitch receiver equal or better than that is a different question, but chances are very good they did. There should be a hitch rating on the receiver itself, but it may have been a sticker that is gone by now.

Call 1-800-FTL-HELP and have your chassis VIN handy.

Thank you for the info. Called and they weren't real sure but felt it should be at least 5k.........I will make a trip to the welding shop and at least have the hitch looked at to be sure it is in good shape! Thank you again!

I'm amazed and disappointed that FCCC couldn't give you detailed specs. Heck, they even have info on old Oshkosh RV chassis that they bought up when FCCC was formed. I've heard other reports of "don't know" or "not sure" answers lately. Wonder if they have farmed out the support line instead of having one of their senior techs handle it? They used to be fabulous!
