Welcome to iRV2.

Information would be in the owners manual, but if you don't have that.
Some questions.
Is it a 4 wheel drive ? They are rare but some were 2wd.
Does it have a steering wheel lock ? Chipped ignition key ?

Transfer case in neutral, transmission in 5th . Check for a steering column lock , by turning the steering wheel , fully side to side, with the ignition off , key out. Many years of Jeep ( Chrysler products ) had a steering lock that only engaged when the steering wheel was 180 degrees from straight ahead.
If you have the lock as my mini van does , you will need to leave the key on and disconnect the battery to prevent drain and mileage rolling up.
Park brake off.

You may be able to find a free download of the owners manual on line, or pick one up at a salvage yard. Good to have.

On my 1995 Wrangler I do as Skip says except I don't disconnect the battery. The ignition key is in the AUX position.

Transfer case to neutral
Manual transmission in any gear (commonly used is 5th)
Key set to unlock steering column
Ensure parking brake not set

That's it - tow-a-way
