We tow an Outback 5sp. and have had no issues. The Outback is basicly the same as the Baja. We did over 3K + mile trip this summer down the spine of the Rockies from northern Montana to southern Colorado with no problems. You will find that the Baja weighs more than you expect at about 4000 lbs.
