2004 Ford Expedition

Hello all...I see on here how a 2003 Ford Explorer can be modified to be able to tow on all four wheels. So I would have to believe that a similar vehicle might also be able to be towed..at least that is my hope (prayer). ;0)

Any information would be appreciated as we are contemplating selling our much loved Expedition prior to getting on the road. ANY help would be great.

Just now buying our 2002 Gulfstream TourMaster and are trying to figure out all the logistics.

Here was the link to the Explorer article I recently looked at:

Neutral Tow Kit for 2003 Ford Explorer 4x4

Thanks in Advance!

I couldn't find a 2002 TourMaster brochure, 2000 was the closest year of TourMaster listed on the Gulf Stream website. The 2000 only had a receiver capable of towing a 5000 lb load, a 2004 Expedition weighs in at 5300 lbs. You can't modify the tow rating, you must stay under it.

Modifying a 12 year old vehicle for towing costs as much as modifying a newer vehicle that might be a better investment.

Because of the size of the Ford and the age, I'd really suggest finding a vehicle that would be a better fit for use as a toad.
