2004 Honda Element Toad Wiring

Hi, I'm new to all this. Just bought 04 Element for toad and need to wire up the lights. I would rather not tie in the the cars wiring but run seperate wires. Do seperate bulbs fit? And if so, any pointers on how the run the wiring? ( under car or thru the kick panels) Thanks, I really like this RV stuff.

We tow an Element. Rather than take a chance on messing up the computer I simply bought a set of magnetic lights. I run the wire through the car, out the passenger door then under the hood and out to the MH hookup. Only about 6 inches of exposed wire to be buffeted by the wind.
