I just got my ebay Vue today..AWD V6..as good or better than expected except there is a bunch of apparent tire noise...21K miles with Bridgestone Duelers..they seem to be evenly worn and came with 25 lbs in them...even at 35 lbs, they are very noisey...I dont think it's the RDM Ive heard about...this is like a tire rumble from all 4 corners...is this a regular issue or do I have another kind of problem? Love the car other than that....

I can't speak for a Saturn Vue, but I have a Malibu Chevy that had a similar problem when I got it. Had every thing mechanically checked and it all checked out ok. Fortunately a chevy dealer had a similar Malibu on the lot. Switched all four wheels with mine. No more noise at any speed. My tires were nearly new. So I had 4 new tires installed, different brand, slightly softer rubber. It immediately solved my noise problem totally. The tire company manager told me there is a big difference in tires from one brand to another. He was right. Hope you find your problem as easy. Tire noise is terrible.

Mike..I see that you have the same vehicle...same tires? same problem? suggestions..i guess buying a set of tires even tho these have many miles left

Quandary, I called Winnebago about furnace filters when I first bought my rig in '01. They told me to use the spun fiberglass filters and change at least once a month. They said the paper pleated jobs were too restrictive. I did as they said. Then I couldn't find the cheap fiberglass 14X20X1 filters for a long time. So went to the pleated paper. They seemed to do a better job of filtering, but they also showed signs of stress from the fan sucking them inward. I went back to the original fiberglass filters the coach came with, for fear of starving the blower. At this point I am not sure what is best. I don't think I could use the permanent washables, since my filter box requires a filter frame of some kind. And so it goes.

Larry, I will have to look t see what tires are on the car but we do not have objectionable road noise. I will try to remember tolook as I leave for work and get back with you later in the day.

We have an '06 Vue, V6 AWD. I never noticed any objectionable road noise from the original Bridgestone 235/60R17 tires, although I could occasionally get some wind noise from the passenger-side door seal. This usually only happens in a strong side gust.

Today, I replaced the tires with 4 new Michelins, so I was able to get a comparison of the two brands of tires. There was no appreciable difference in sound level.

PS: Tires for this vehicle ain't cheap.

Followup....got the tires checked and found all 4 tires had FLAT spots from a lock up, probably due to a malfunctioning Brake Buddy..one tire had 4/32 missing from the tire...pretty bad thump thump, turning into a rumble at speed...got a set of Kumhos for about $360...a HUGE difference...the Koreans look like they copied the Michelin tread design.I can still hear more road noise than my Tahoe, but I expect that to be a normal sound for the car it is..

footdoc, thanks for letting us all know what the problem was. Our Vue, when new, wasn't as quiet as the 3-year old Silverado we had at the time just like your Tahoe is quieter. But I think that's normal and it shouldn't be as bad as you described. Glad you were able to track it down.

and those Kumhos (love that name!!) have a good reputation and great price compared to the other limited choices in that size

FOOTDOC: Glad you tracked it down. Tire and drive line noises are most annoying. I know my Malibu is an all together different car once I got rid of the tire noise.
