Is anybody towing (4 down) a 2007 Chevy or GMC Pickup (the New Style). I have just purchased one and now I have baseplate concerns. It seems Blue Ox has pulled their baseplate off the market because of design issues and haven't got a schedule for re-release. I'm not real sure about Roadmaster because their website does not specifically address the issue of New Style versus Classic Style. I am going to call Roadmaster today...hopefully they will have a solution but, I was wondering if anyone here has run across this problem on the 2007 General Motors 4X4 1500 series Pickup Trucks.

I'm pulling an '04 with Blue Ox base plates w/o any problems, but have not heard of problems with the new body style. Good luck!

Have you called Blue Ox and talked to them? They are extremely customer oriented.

Tomorrow (Sunday) we will be towing our 2007 Tahoe for the first time.

We had problem with the baseplates as the instructions say no trimming if required - and that was NOT the case. I wonder if they have found their design required some trimming and they are redesigning them. Looking at the diagram for the Roadmaster baseplates it appeared to us that they were a different design and would not require trimming.

Frankly, I got very PO'd with BlueOx and when I sent them an email after the installation they didn't even reply. I'll think twice before I use any of their products again.

Tahoe towed very well today. We left Palmetto FL and went 370 miles north in very heavy winds. Left arm was sore from holding the wheel 1/8th to 1/2 turn left and reacting to that wind.

So, my only gripe is that they screwed up on the design and we had no choice but to cut.

Update: After a few desperate Emails and calls, I received a phone call from Anne at Blue Ox. They are super and are making a special effort to get my baseplate redesigned and to me this week. I really appreciate all thier effort and if it all happens the way they say it will, they will have a customer for life. (and I will sing their praises accordingly )

Thanks for all the input and keep your fingers crossed for me!

Howard

Update: May baseplate from Blue Ox arrived at PPL Monday. I picked it up Tuesday. I installed it today, it took about 3 hours. It was an easier install than I had inticapated. I didn't even need to remove the plastic skirt under the bumper. There was two bolts to trim and two holes to drill...no biggie....piece of cheesepie.

Thanks Blue Ox for taking care of me!

Howard
