2008 Honda Ridgeline AWD flat towing?

Is anybody out there towing a Honda ridgeline? There have been sightings, I have caught a fleeting glimpse while going in the opposite direction. Obviously I have a ridgeline and love it but the owners manual says not to tow it flat. Yet it provides steps to flat tow if necessary and blue ox makes plates/connectors for the ridgeline

I would love to hear from you if you can shed any light on the issue!

I don't know the answer of who, but I've always been interested in the Ridgeline as a Toad. I did see a gent towing one four down in New Mexico. He was going the East, while I was going West - so I had no way to ask him any questions.

Official answer remains no, but sure would be interested if others have done so successfully too...

Will follow this thread if anyone pops in with more info. I have searched this a few time on this and other boards too!

Best to all, have fun, be safe,
Smitty

To me that means "no" unless it's out of warranty and somebody can convince me it's okay. Our CRV says it's okay in the owner's manual...and tells us how to do it.

I don't know about the Ridgeline, but we tow a 2008 Honda Accord. Honda will not say it's OK to tow it, but we have a copy of a letter from a Honda engineer that says it's OK by following a procedure of running through the gear positions before towing. We have been towing it for about 2 1/2 years without any problems. You might want to check to see if the Ridgeline uses the same transmission as the Accord.

Our 2005 Odyssey also was not supposed to be towed four down even though we got it in writing on Honda letterhead that it was towable four down. Honda ended up paying for the towing gear we bought and had installed. Bought a KK-460 dolly, but I kept seeing the Ody's being towed so I talked with the owners. I'm back to towing it four down with no troubles other than the "normal" one of not remembering to release the parking brake.

Rigeline

Talked with several dealers and techs. Can't tow them because of transmission. Even if a transmission pump is installed you cant(what I was told) 2015 CRV is going to have same transmission so it can not be towed 4 down either. We were wanting a new one but now going used.
My two cents

Safe travels all
