2010 Rav 4 Toad

Is there any problem converting an automatic Toyota Rav 4 to be used as a toad by adding a lube pump and braking system?

Google "remco.com". They are the "experts" concerning converting cars into 4 wheel down "toads". I would also read the owner's manual as to recreational towing. And I would talk to your mechanic at the dealership. I had to trade my 2008 Toyota Crolla, because, even though Remco told me it could be done, they wouldn't do it. Camping World wouldn't do it, nor did they know anyone who would do it. Probably something about the liability in the event your transmission got toasted. I finally went with a Saturn Vue. As to a braking system, it depends on your state laws and how much your Rav weighs, but it's best not to "leave home without one".

No toyota automatic vehicle can be towed 4 down without modifications to the transmission. It would need an auxilliary lubrication pump installed at a cost of approximately $1500. It would need a tow bar, baseplate, and brake system at a cost of approximately $ 2000.
