2010 srx toad

We just bought a 2010 SRX and are making the transition from dolly to dinghy towing and have a couple of questions. 1) Is the secondary baking for the TOAD a necessity? I was towing on a dolly without secondary brakes and had no problems, 2) If the SRX already has a trailer wiring harness installed, could you run your lighting from the coach to that harness?

If it matters, we are using a Blue Ox tow bar and baseplate.

1. Absolutely yes. You can't stop in a short enough distance with an extra 3-5,000 lbs pushing you.

2. Trailer towing wiring has almost nothing to do with how the lights are set up for toad towing. So no, you can't plug into the trailer towing harness.
