2011 Explorer
We bought a MH last year and will travel without a TOAD until the 5th wheel sells. Whatever we buy will be our main car while at home and our TOAD on the road. It must seat 6 and be flat towable. My finance minister wants a 2011 Explorer, I'm undecided. So we will probably compromise and buy a 2011 Explorer.
A Roadmaster 5250 tow setup and brake buddy came with the MH. Roadmaster does not have a base plate (brackets) yet, but I was told Blue Ox has brackets and an adapter for the 2011 Explorer. Is this just something extra I will have to hook up. I am not in a hurry since I can't buy anything until the 5er sells. I don't want to buy somethng and find out i screwed up. Ford says it is flat towable with no switch/parts etc. No one mentioned anything about keys/fuses/switches etc. This will probably be my one and only TOAD so i want to do it right the first time. What other questions do i need to ask? Or other considerations do I need to make?
