2012 Chevy Traverse

We are currently towing a 2011 Jeep Liberty with the Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar and couldn't be happier with the setup and towing. However we are considering upgrading our toad to a 2012 Chevy Traverse LX AWD and would like to hear from others that are towing this vehicle, good - bad or otherwise. Thanx. Len

The Traverse will weigh about 1000 lbs more than the Liberty.
Here is a link to Chevrolet Owners Manuals. Page 10-80 gives the instructions for towing 4 down.
Is hitch on your MH heavy enough to tow 5000 lbs?

We've towed a sister SUV, the 2007 GMC Acadia, for nearly 50k miles so far and are very happy with it.

The tow bar is rated for 10k
Will I lose much on mileage with the increase weight?
Currently doing 6.5-7.0 at 60mph.

We have a 35A on the W24 and tow an '06 Wrangler Unlimited (last year of the 2 door version). There is never any doubt that it's back there, especially going up hills. It weighs 4200 lbs. We also have a new Buick Enclave AWD (same platform as a Traverse) and it weighs 4960 according to the local truck scale. Although it is within legal and manufacturers limitations, I would never consider towing it with the 35A. That extra 1000 lbs. is more than I want to task the 8.1 and Allison with. BTW, I'm pretty sure your 38J has the same 5000 lbs. hitch tow limit as the 35A so you would be pushing that limit, well, to the limit. We'll tow the Enclave if I upgrade to a DP.

Yes the Liberty is 4WD. Thanx to everyone for the feedback We'll stay with the Liberty. The only issue I have with the Liberty is the leg room, no room to move your foot to the right of the gas peddle.
