After spend considerable time making a harness to switch the accessory switch in a new CRV I find that when I switch off the 7.5A accessory switch that Honda says to pull for towing I also cut the current to the 12V power receptacle that powers my brake buddy.

Short of running a charging line from the MH, what have others done that pull fuses and also have a brakie Buddy?

Did you check the one in the console? Is it dead as well?

It might be easiest to tap directly in to the battery to power the Brake Buddy. They probably make a kit with fuses & whatever else you need to do the job safely.

I don't think I'd power it directly from the motorhome. Power from the motorhome through a Trik-L-Charge to the Honda battery, and from there to the BB. (This shows how to hook up chassis & house batteries but it's easily adapted to toads. Ultra Trik-L-Start, Starting Battery Charger/Maintainer for Gas or Diesel Engines - RV Power Supply )

I'm assuming you know where to put fuses/breakers to keep it safe.

I use an auxiliary power supply similar to this Clore Automotive JNC660 Jump-N-Carry 1, 700 Peak Amp 12-Volt Jump Starter : Amazon.com : Automotive to power the Brake Buddy. Charge will hold nicely for several days of travel. I did it as I do not trust that the wiring to the CRV 12 Volt plug is robust enough to be used to power BB. You could also run a wire directly from the battery and attach a 12 V female plug to it.

Can I jump in on this one please?

I have just bought a 2003 Honda CR-v, auto, 2 wheel drive and it has a Blue Ox base plate. The dealer bought it from an auction so it was " what you see is what you get". The standard 4 way flat connector is fitted which I will change for a 6 way socket as I have a 7 to 6 way power cord. There is also a break away box at the front and a 2 core cable with 2 plugs to connect to a "brake buddy" but I cannot find any connection to the brake light circuit from the RV for a "brake buddy".

The owners manual gives the standard info on running the auto box for 3 mins etc but where is the fuse to kill the radio, odometer and the auto selector light ( PRND21).

The previous owner has run 2 supplies from the centre fuse box, one tapped onto fuse 16 and one tapped onto fuse 18 but they disappear up the drivers side A post and into the roof lining. I don't have enough tools with me to drop the head lining so I am going with the idea that they are nothing to do with the TOAD set up.

So where is the fuse please?
