This is probably the one we had done last summer. It was a major shock that my wife had taken our dogs with her to a doctor's appointment while I was with our coach that was being worked on 50 miles away. We were extremely fortunate on that hot day that she was parked under shade. She left the dogs in the car with it running and full AC on. 15 minutes later she came back to the car to find it had SHUT DOWN! Yes...the battery drain can occur even if the car is running. Once the battery drains down to some point the car no longer has the electronics needed to keep it running.
Fortunately we had a charger pack in the back of the car and got it to start agin. It is probable that the system rebooted so we were successful in getting it running again.
