2013 Ford Edge

I need to set up my 2013 Ford Edge - 6 cyl., AWD - for towing. The manual says the prep for towing is easy - neutral & leave ignition in neutral. Is it that easy? I need to have the base plate installed. Simple task? I'm waivering between running a wiring harness through the Edge or magnetic lights attached to the top of the car (radio controlled and no wires). Any thoughts?

We have an 08 Edge. The baseplate and wiring of Roadmaster Invsibrake system was IMO difficult. Why, I had it installed professionally and it still needed a lot of tweaking. If you do not have a charging system from the coach to the battery, the battery will die! Yes, place the shift in neutral and turn the key to the aux. position. Be sure to turn off the AC. Someone recently stated their Edge had a start button? If so, that's a game changer on the key in the aux. position? Check with Ford. In your post you state leave the ignition in neutral perhaps the new aux. position? Also, be sure to start the engine and allow it to run cycling the tranny fluid at every stop.

We have a 2011 EDGE, FWD. Easily towed 4 down, neutral, key in accessory. BE sure to turn all off. Driving in rain, and wipers we going, along with headlights when dark. Had battery problem, now have a "toad Charger" works great, simple plug in when traveling.
